Goldstone is a man made stone, however it's shimmery beauty is just too gorgeous to pass up to add into your collection of crystals and stones. The process of making goldstone is interesting when I was reading up on it, as it is simply man made colored glass.
It is produced in a variety of colors -- however the original color is reddish brown. Reddish brown goldstone is made by heating molten glass to a temperature that is hot enough to dissolve granules of copper oxide that are added to the melt. After the copper oxide is completely dissolved, the melt is then cooled slowly. This slow cooling gives copper ions in the melt adequate time find one another and grow into copper crystals. The slower the cooling, the larger the copper crystals.
The reason I purchased this blue goldstone aside from the fact that it looked similar to the night sky, I was intrigued on the meanings associated with it. Blue goldstone in particular is associated with the astrological sign Sagittarius, as well as the throat chakra, and in crystal healing it is said to be the stone of protection, confidence and ambition, encouraging motivation and drive. It is a positive, uplifting stone that promotes vitality.
This is also known as, "The Stone of Ambition" and is the master healer. Blue goldstone is great for empaths or people dealing with hypersensitivity. Also, if you have a child, this is a great stone to snag to help assist with being afraid of the dark!
I ended up snagging this beautiful palm stone from The Indigo Crystal and it is simply breath-taking in natural sunlight. I definitely recommend checking out her shop, as she has so many things I would love to purchase from her, and gets her stones and other items from reputable suppliers.
